How to specify a response queue for an MQ Listener

Updated on May 4, 2020

Summary

By default, MQSeries message processing uses the queue specified in the incoming message as the response queue.

You can specify another response queue via the MQ Properties tab on the MQ Listener form.

Suggested Approach

Complete the following steps to specify the response queue for an MQ Listener:

  1. Log on as a user with developer access.
  2. On the Rules by Type tab, select Integration Resources > MQ Listener. A list of MQ listener instances appears.
  3. Choose an instance of an MQ listener, or create a new listener.
  4. On the MQ Listener form, select the MQ Properties tab.
  5. In the Reply To section of the form, enter values in the Queue Name and Queue Manager fields.
  6. In the Priority drop down, select Prefer Listener.
  7. Save the MQ Listener form.
