The Pega Mobile SDK includes two components, Mashup SDK and Connect SDK that you can both use within the same native mobile app. You can develop mobile apps for the Pega Platform with the Pega Mobile SDK in one of the following ways.
- Embed a Pega 7 application in a native app – A custom third-party native app that contains at least one screen in which all or part of a Pega Platform application is embedded in a web view. This is accomplished by using the Mashup SDK capability.
- Create a native app with a Pega 7 backend – A custom third-party native app that makes use of the Connect SDK library to access Pega Platform data.
The Mashup SDK extends the functionality of a custom third-party app. It is available in both Android and iOS apps, and consists of a library that, when included in a custom third-party app, provides the following functionality:
Ability to work with both new and existing projects in your choice of integrated development environment (IDE)
Provides access to at least one screen in which part or all of a Pega 7 Platform application is embedded in a web view
The Connect SDK extends the functionality of a custom third-party app by providing access to data on Pega Platform. This functionality is available in Android, iOS, and Windows apps using the integrated development environment (IDE) of your choice.
The Connect SDK consists of a library that, when included in a custom third-party app, provides the following capabilities:
Ability to integrate data from a Pega Platform application in a mobile app with a rich user interface and custom user experience.
Ability to perform various case, assignment, and data processing operations with a Pega Platform backend.
