Create a Declare Pages rule by selecting Declare Pages from the Technical category.

A Declare Pages rule has a single key part, a page name:

Field

Description

Page Name

Enter a name for the top-level page created and maintained by this rule. Page names are case-sensitive. Choose a name that is unique within the RuleSet. Start the name with a letter and use only letters, digits, and underscores.

You can't use the reserved names such as pxThread, pxRequestor, pxProcess, pyWorkPage in the page name. For a complete list of reserved names on your system, review the prconfig.xml value for DeclarePages.ReservedPageNames. See also Understanding page names and reserved pages.

By convention, declare pages have names that start with Declare_. In PRPC releases before V6.3, this was required. However, that restriction is removed in V6.3+. (You can re-establish the pre-V6.3 name restriction by creating a prconfig setting declarePages/ignoreDeclarePrefixCheck with a value of false. The default value is true.)

For general information on the New form, see Completing the new rule dialog box. For general information on the Save As form, see How to enter rule keys using Save As.

Rule resolution

Limited rule resolution based on RuleSets and versions only applies to Declare Pages rules. For a node-scope page, choose a name that is unique system-wide. You can create multiple declare pages with the same name in separate versions of one RuleSet.
