Back Forward Modal flow

A modal flow presents a process in a series modal dialogs. The modals display only action sections; harnesses are not displayed. Users can start modal flows by clicking button, link, or icon controls, or from context menus or menubars. When the flow starts, the user cannot continue working in the main user form until the modal dialog closes.

To configure your control or navigation rule, specify the Flow in Modal Dialog action. You can place the control or navigation rules in all standard harnesses inheriting from Work-, Data- or Embed-. You can run any flow in a modal dialog; the rule does not have to be specially configured. When started, the modal flow does not generate a pzInsKey value. A modal flow runs on its own Thread and on the primary page of the harness containing the control.

Modal flows are useful for screen flows, which present a series of forms to the user. When the user submits the final assignment in the modal flow, its page merges into the parent flow's primary page. If the user cancels the modal dialog, none of the modal flow's data is copied to the primary page or committed to the database.V6.2 sp2 GRP-36749
