Traditional portal

Traditional portals are portals for application users of the type introduced in V5.1. PRPC includes two sample traditional portals, WorkUser or WorkManager, and developers can customize them to suit application needs.

Traditional portals have a fixed layout and are built from HTML rules with Data-Gadget as the Applies To key part.

Traditional portals are referred to as "classic" portals in some menus and selection lists.

The term traditional is used to contrast these portals with composite portals, introduced in V5.5. Composite portals are built from sections and harnesses, and are recommended for new application development.
