WAR file

A WAR file or Web Archive file is an archive, similar to a ZIP or JAR file, with a restricted structure. A WAR file may contain static HTML pages, static images, JavaServer Pages, and Java-based servlets, plus an XML file known as the deployment descriptor.

When PRPC is installed, three WAR files from the installation media can be deployed.

• prweb.war — PRPC
• prhelp.war — supports this Application Developer help system
• jmxclient.war — System Management application (prsysmgmt)

In a multinode system, only the prweb.war file needs to be deployed on each node; the other applications can be shared across nodes.
