Purpose

Use the Class form to create and define new PRPC classes.

Development

TipAs a best practice, create a new class instance rather than copy an existing instance to create new classes. You cannot alter the Keys fields (if not blank) or inheritance fields on the General tab after a Class form is first saved. You can't alter certain other fields after a concrete class contains instances.

Plan carefully before defining new classes.

Complete the General tab first.

Automatic class rule creation

You do not need to complete this form to create every new class. Several tools create classes automatically rather than through the Class form:

Also, the system automatically creates classes derived from the History- base class in certain cases.

Access

Use the Application Explorer to access the classes in your system.

Category

Class rules are part the SysAdmin category. A class rule is an instance of the Rule-Obj-Class rule type.

Database table

Class rules are always stored in the PegaRULES database as rows of the pr4_base table.
