Adding a single-value field to a data type or case type

After creating a data type or case type, you can add a single-value field to collect an individual piece of information from users. These fields can then be added to a form that will be used in your application's user interface. For example, you can add a Phone field to a form that prompts users to enter their home telephone number.

To add a single-value field to a data type:

  1. To access the data model tab for a data type:

  2. Click Add field.
  3. Enter the field's label in the Name column. An identifier is automatically generated in the ID column.
  4. Update the field's identifier that will be used to reference it in rules in the ID column.
  5. Select the type of data that will be stored in this field in the Type column from the Simple or Fancy category.
  6. Continue adding fields as necessary.

Note: Some simple or fancy fields, such as picklists, require configuration before they are fully functional. Click the Gear icon to view the available options for a field.
