Cross-browser support for user portals

Users expect to use the browser of their choice when interacting with an application through a browser. To ensure your application works properly with versions of all supported browsers, develop your user interface with composite portals. Composite portals use harnesses, for which the Pega 7 Platform generates cross-browser, standards compliant code.

Note: A number of Pega 7 Platform features rely on ActiveX controls which are only supported by Internet Explorer. Applications that expect to support access from Firefox, Chrome, or Safari browsers cannot leverage these features or include new functions that require ActiveX controls.
