Adding a supporting process to a case type

Add a supporting process to your case type to run flows concurrently with steps in a stage. By allowing users to handle out-of-sequence events as they arise, you make your case type more adaptive.

  1. In the explorer panel of Designer Studio, click Cases and then click the name of a case type.

  2. On the Settings tab, click Case-wide supporting processes.

  3. Click + Add process.

  4. In the Process field, press the Down Arrow key and select the name of a flow.

Alternatively, you can enter a name and click the Open icon to create a new flow.

  5. If the flow accepts parameter values, enter property names or values in the fields that are displayed in the Parameters section.

  6. Select one or more methods for running the flow:

Tip: Select at least one check box. Otherwise, the flow is listed as a supporting process but never runs.

  7. Click OK.

  8. Click Save.

When a supporting process is run, it is inserted as a step in the current stage of the case.
