Note: The rule type Rule-Define-Hierarchy is deprecated. As appropriate, migrate to Rule-Navigation.

Create a hierarchy rule to define relationships among text values. Each rule can define an entire hierarchy, or a branch (subtree) of a larger hierarchy.

Where referenced

At run time, an activity can use standard functions to load the entire hierarchy, consisting of the root rule plus all branch rules. Other standard functions can navigate through the hierarchy to locate nodes, determine which nodes are immediate children of a specified node, and so on.

Access

Use the Application Explorer to view hierarchy rules that apply to the work types of your application. Use the Records Explorer to list all hierarchy rules available to you.

Category
