Blank screen is displayed after clicking on close icon on tab

SA-25217

Summary

When closing a work object, it does not get closed instead a blank screen is displayed.

Error Messages

Not Applicable.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Use WorkArea control in the configuration instead of Dynamic container and create a work Object.

2. Close work object with tab close icon and observe that a blank screen appears and tab does not get closed.

Root Cause

Use DynamicContainer instead of WorkArea control. But even then issue persists for Customer Process Manager (CPM) work objects in Internet Explorer 11.

On debugging the scripts and by comparing behavior in Internet Explorer 9 and Internet Explorer 11, there is a difference in pega_desktop_support JS where are referring parentWindow using frameelement.document.parentWindow which does not work in modern browsers like Internet Explorer 11. This issue is fixed as part of HFix-28169.

As the user could not switch to DynamicContainer from WorkArea control because of there business needs, fix was provided in WorkArea control itself. For WorkArea control code was breaking in two JS files, Pega_desktop_harnessviewtabs and pzpega_ui_non_blocking JS which is addressed as part of HFix-28390.

Resolution

  • Apply HFIX-28390 to fix issue in WorkArea control.
  • Apply HFIX-28169 to fix issue in Dynamic Container to work in IE11.
