Caught javax.mail.MessagingException cant send command to SMTP

Summary



When sending email through the workflow, a message is displayed in the audit (history) of the case:

Error Messages



Caught javax.mail.MessagingException, Cant send command to SMTP host

Steps to Reproduce



Send an email notification from a work object to observe the issue.

Root Cause



Pega attempts to negotiate TLS encryption with a mail server that supports it by default. The mail server supported TLS in this environment; however, Pega was not configured with security information and certificates to properly integrate. 

Resolution



This issue is resolved through the following Local-change:

Disable the TLS negotiation through the following Dynamic System Setting:

Owning Ruleset: Pega-IntSvcs
Purpose: Email/DisableSecuritySTARTTLS
value: true
