Correspondence and Eforms formatted incorrectly in PDF

Summary



After upgrade from Pega 7.1.7 to Pega 7.2.2 the user sees incorrect font on generating a PDF using Correspondence or Eform rules, the Checkbox in the PDF is replaced by question marks and hyphen is just too large than expected.

Root Cause

If the character or symbol is not understood by the PD4ml, then it look for the fallback tables to find any present font of the group to be used as a substitution.

Resolution

Add the necessary font file in the fonts directory. In this case, add the "arial.ttf" file to fonts directory.
