Delegated Map Value rule not shown in Case Manager portal

SA-17539

Summary

The question here is about how to “Delegate” a “MapValue” rule in order for a business user to modify it from a user or manager portal.

The only option available seems to be “Add to Favorites” on “MapValue” rule type:

And even using this option the “MapValue” is not available for changes.

Error Messages

Not applicable.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a MapValue and use the “Add to Favorites” link with the appropriate AccessGroup.
  2. Open the user portal and try to access it for modification. Observe that the “Configuration” is not displaying anything

Root Cause

This is the expected Out-Of-The-Box behaviour for the “Add to Favorites” option.

This option is now supposed to be used by “Developers”, in order to quickly access a rule regardless of the rule type.

Now the “Delegate” option has been created for business users:

But as the help file is mentioning, it is only possible to “Delegate” 3 type of rules (paragraph, decision table and data type):

And when the “Delegate” option has been used you can see the rule from the user portal using the “Configuration” link:

Resolution

An explanation has been sent and two local change approaches have been explained. The first one is obviously to change the implementation in order to use a “DecisionTable” instead of a “MapValue”.

The second one is to customize the Out-Of-the-Box “Navigation” rule in order for the business users to access the “My Rules” screen.

Following screen is the one presenting the “Favorites” rules which can be update:

Finalised to use a DecisionTable instead of a MapValue to resolve the issue.
