Delegated rules not opening in IE11 fixed portals

SA-8548

Summary

In IE11, when user logs in to a Work Manager or Business Analyst portal (fixed portal), and launches a delegated rule (for example, a decision table), the UI of the delegated rule does not load properly.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. In PRPC 6.3 SP1 environment, install HFix-8246 and HFix-9161 (according to PDN article: https://pdn.pega.com/user-interface/troubleshooting-ie10-and-ie11-ui-problems-fixed-by-prpc-5x-and-prpc-6x-hotfixes-for-ie5-quirks-mode) to be able to launch fixed portals in IE11.
  2. Create a simple decision table rule and delegate it.
  3.  In IE11, log in to Work Manager or Business Analyst portal.
  4. Under the My Business Rules section, click on the delegated rule link to launch it.
The UI of the delegated rule does not load correctly.

Root Cause

This problem occurs because the delegate rule which opens as a rule form, is not harness based (it is a form builder) which is equivalent to opening the rule in developer portal. Developer portal is not supported in IE10 / IE11.

Resolution

The delegate rule is not supported in IE10 / IE11.
