FileListener not processing files

Summary



Processing of files in production stopped all of a sudden in spite of the FileListener threads running without any issues.

Error Messages



None

Steps to Reproduce



1. Start Listener
2. Place file in the input/source directory on the server


Root Cause



Enabled DEBUG level logging on logger “com.pega.pegarules.integration.engine.internal.services.file.FileListener” and from the DEBUG logs for the specific FileListener service requestor found that it was unable to write to its corresponding WORK directory because of insufficient directory write permissions


Resolution



This issue is resolved by making the following change to the PRPC operating environment:

 
$> chmod –R 777 {/path/to/work_direcory}
