Screen appears clumsy when browser is in compatibility mode

Summary



The home page of user portal appears distorted when browser compatibility mode is on. Screen is not accessible and compatibility mode must be removed in order to get the screen properly.

Steps to Reproduce



1. Turn on the compatibility mode.
2. Login to the application user portal
.

Root Cause



User is trying to load a standard mode portal in compatibility mode. The browser cannot read the standard mode html in compatibility mode.

Resolution



 Two approaches are suggested as Local-change:

* Do a Save as of the rule pyMetaTags html fragment to their rule set and add the below meta tag and save the rule:
    <meta http-equiv="x-ua-compatible" content="IE=edge" >
Most of the contents are loaded after adding this tag, however there are few scenarios which does not render like modal window.

(OR)
* Make the changes to the harness that you require to render in IE compatibility mode.
a.    Open the when rule pyShowMetaConfig and save it to your custom rule set.
b.    Edit the when rule to true=true.
c.    Observe an additional option in the advanced tab of the harness with a check box with a label “IE document mode”.
d.    Select other option and fill the text box with “IE=edge”.
e.    Install Hfix-9745.
