Text Area - Character count issue

SA-23723

Summary

User has set maximum characters for a text area and enables the character count to be displayed. When text is entered, the new line character that must be counted as 2 appears as 1 in the character count. The character count display asks for more characters to be entered, but it does not accept any characters.
This is observed in Chrome v50.0.2661and works fine in Internet Explorer.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

1. Set maximum number of characters for a text area.
2. Enter text with a new line space. When characters still remain (shown in the character count), the text area does not accept.

Root Cause

In Chrome browser, the new line character is considered as 2 characters unlike in Internet Explorer and Firefox, hence Chrome specific implementation is required so that it maintains the character count after a browser refresh.

Resolution

Apply HFix-27679.

Additional Installation Instructions:
1. Re-save the pzAssemblePreprocess activity to implement changes on existing sections.
2. Generate pzGenerateTextArea function.
