Unable to find function after upgrade to Pega 7.1.8

Summary



After updating from Pega 7.1.7 to 7.1.8 and also redeploying PegaSurvey and HFix-20523 to the environment, when attempting to access cases with the PegaSurvey function IsSetToTargetProp, an error occurs.


Error Messages



-InvalidExpression No candidates found [possible function name, ruleset/version or number of parameter problem] for Rule-Utility-Function in ruleset list <null> expected since isEditing is false ruleset = null library = null functionName = IsSetToTargetProp parameters = [ Item: tools Pega type = PublicAPI Java data type = PublicAPI]

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Choose a case which has PegaSurvey questions.
  2. Run the application activity StartLegacyCaseMigration.
  3. Observe it fail in the page-copy step displaying the above mentioned error.


Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. The Engine is supposed to check if it is "ready" before servicing requests.  There were paths into the system that bypassed the checks.

Resolution



Apply HFix-23713 that is reissued on September 2015.
