Summary

When installing Pega 7.2 and configuring Decisioning Management, the Visual Business Director node setup works correctly.

However, after installing Pega Marketing 7.13, the Visual Business Director landing page breaks with NoSuchMethodError.

Error Messages

The Flow Action pre-processing activity pzNodeTopologyLP failed: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError:
com/pega/decision/vbd/service/statistics/NodeStatistics.<init>(Ljava/lang/String:Ljava/lang/String:Ljava/util/Collection;)V

Steps to Reproduce

Install Pega Marketing 7.13 on Pega7.2 and launch the Visual Business Director landing page.

Root Cause

Refer to the product documentation: https://pdn.pega.com/documents/pega-marketing-713-installation-guide The issue only occurs on Pega Marketing 7.13 and Pega 7.2 combination. Pega Marketing 7.13 media contains Visual Business Director module that are not compatible with Pega 7.2. 

When installing Pega Marketing 7.13 on PRPC7.2, additional steps is required. The Dynamic System Setting of DATA-ADMIN-SYSTEM-SETTINGS PEGA-ENGINE!PROPERTIES/COM.PEGA.PEGARULES.BOOTSTRAP.CODESET.VERSION.PEGAMKT_DSM/DEFAULT must be deleted and then the server must als0 be restarted. This step will enable the system to reference the Visual Business Director module from Pega 7.2 instead of Pega Marketing 7.13.

Resolution

1) Delete the Dynamic System Setting of DATA-ADMIN-SYSTEM-SETTINGS PEGA-ENGINE!PROPERTIES/COM.PEGA.PEGARULES.BOOTSTRAP.CODESET.VERSION.PEGAMKT_DSM/DEFAULT

2) Restart the server.
