Tracer viewer tool
The Tracer XML Output Viewer is a Windows program that presents and summarizes the Tracer output data (saved as an XML file) in an attractive, interactive tree-like format. You can use this tool for off-line analysis of the Tracer data. Analyzing the presented data can help you understand what is happening when, determine where performance bottlenecks are occurring, and diagnose issues.

An Introduction to the Application Profiler tool
The Profiler (formerly called the Application Profiler) is an additional tracing tool for debugging activities. In addition to information available from Tracer, the Profiler also shows all of the when rules called, both inlined and rule-resolved. Use the Profiler for troubleshooting only, and disable this immediately after user to prevent performance problems.

This Microsoft Excel utility can be used to read V5.3 (and higher) Tracer files exported as XML and output them in a formatted XLS file. Simply open and run the Excel file and accept the macros to output the formatted XLS file.

The Upgrade Readiness tool diagnoses potential issues that can affect upgrades. When run against a 4.2 database before upgrading to any of the version 5 releases, this tool examines certain rules for the correct use of the Java relational “= =” and “!=” operators, and creates a report. After a 4.2 system is upgraded to 5.1 or later, work object history records created in the 4.2 format operate correctly but with reduced performance. This utility, run once, converts the history records to the newer 5.1 format for best performance.
