Validating inputs

Updated on February 6, 2019

Objective

In Pega® Express, you can add validation to user input to define the conditions that must be met before a user can submit a form.

You can also provide a message that is displayed to users when validation conditions are not met.

This task takes approximately 5 minutes to complete.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation panel, click Case types.
  2. Click a case type.
  3. On the Workflow tab, click Life cycle.
  4. Click an assignment.
  5. Click Configure view, and then click the Conditions tab.
  6. Click + Add condition.
  7. Define the validation conditions for each field on the form, by doing the following steps:
    1. Optional: In the Message field, enter the text to display when validation fails.
    2. From the Field list, select the name of a single-value field.
    3. Select a comparator from the Comparator list.
The available comparators depend on the type of field.
    4. In the Value field, enter a value to compare with the user input.
  8. Click Add condition, and repeat the previous step to define more validation conditions.
  9. Click Submit.
