Use transitions to refine the run-time order of stages. You select a standard stage transition in Case Designer when you add a stage to a case type.
The following alternative techniques are supported when defining a stage transition:
Adding the pyChangeStage flow action as a user action to your case type
Adding the Change Stage smart shape to a flow that is processed in your case type
Calling the pxChangeStage activity and passing parameters that indicate which stage to enter
