Missing functions observed post Pega 7.1.8 installation

Summary



PR_READ_FROM_STREAM and other functions are missing after installing Pega 7.1.8.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Run generateudf script and have a DBA apply the schema changed.
  2. Run the IUA (Installation and Upgrade Assistant) and choose to Bypass Automatic DDL Application


Root Cause

The root cause of this issue stems from the fact that the Bypass Automatic DDL Application checkbox has been updated to no longer install the UDFs as of Pega 7.1.8. However, the documentation regarding this was not updated.


Resolution



Our recommendation to apply the UDFs is to update the setupDatabase.properties file with database connection information (including schema names) and then run the generateudf script.
