Standard Harnesses missing when using App Express

SA-409

Summary

When creating an application on 7.1.6 using Application Express, the standard harnesses (New, Perform, Review, Confirm) are not copied to the application’s Work class (MainCo-ExpenseReport-Work, for example). When running the application, a warning appears at the top of the UI stating that the harness needs to be customized for the application.

In prior versions of PRPC, these harnesses were copied to the application’s Work class, and the warning was not displayed.

Error Messages

Note: This is a new 7.1 end-user screen harness. Best practice is to customize this screen for your application. If you are upgrading your application and would like to revert to the pre-7.1 screen harnesses, then please switch the included section in the "Perform", "Confirm" and "Review" screen harnesses from 'pyCaseContainer' to 'pyWorkContainer'.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create an application using App Express.
  2. Add stages and steps.
  3. Run an initial test of the case.
  4. Observe the message:

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is a change made to the Application Express and UI Toolkit.  Previously, the UI Toolkit overrode this message from appearing after using the Application Express.

Resolution

This issue is scheduled to be resolved in Maintenance Level (ML) release 6 for Pega 7.1.
