Switching portals results in UI from the wrong portal

SA-22669

Summary

When a user switches from the Manager portal to the CaseManager 7 portal and then back to the Manager portal, the UI of the Manager portal appears like the Case Manager7 portal's UI instead of the correct UI.

Error Messages

Not applicable.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open the Application in the Manager's portal.
2. Switch to the Case Manager 7 portal using the dropdown in the Manager portal.
3. Switch back to the Manager's portal using the menu in the
Case Manager 7 portal

Root Cause

User’s "Manager" portal is a customized version of Pega's "pyCaseManager" portal (not pyCaseManager7). User was using a skin called pyEndUser7 (set in the Application rule) and that skin came up every portal switch except the switch from pyCaseManager7 to their customized "Manager" portal.

In that case, for some reason, the system switched back to the default skin for "pyCaseManager" portal  which broke the UI.

Resolution

Perform the following local-change step:

Change the skin setting in the user’s customized “Manager” portal from "Default to Application Skin" to "Other" and set the other skin to pyEndUser7.
