Text Area character count works different for different browsers

Summary



Text Area control does not display exact character count on User Interface (UI) when Enter key is pressed. Text Area control does not work the same for all browsers. In Chrome browser, which accounts to two spaces for Enter key. In Internet Explorer and Mozilla, Enter key accounts for a single space.

Steps to Reproduce



1. Create a section, and place a Text Area on it.
2. Under its Presentation tab, set the maximum count to 100 (as an example).
3. Run it, and enter more lines in it.

Root Cause



There was an issue with Chrome browser. Changes were made to count two for every new line press in Chrome. For other browsers it was counted only once.

Resolution



Apply HFix-25897.
